Daenerys Targaryen photographed by Steven Leung.

Game Of Thrones Season 4 premieres this Sunday, and to celebrate we’re collecting our favorite Game Of Thrones cosplay from our Flickr Group and Creative Commons. Earlier today we posted the first gallery of Game Of Thrones cosplay, and now we have the second gallery ready for your perusal.

Admittedly, there’s a heavy emphasis on Daenerys Targaryen in these galleries because she’s awesomely popular, and rightfully so. If you’re not familiar with the characters, you can check out the College Humor series recap or the Honest Trailers’ recap then continue on to the pictures below. As always, you can also view these on a single page.

You Need To Add An Origami Dinosaur To Your Life Right Now

Meet Lisa Glover. Yep, there’s a person in there. She’s a grad student at Lehigh University and she just owned everyone at a campus costume party by showing up as a giant, googly-eyed velociraptor. The best part, though, is that she’s used what she’s learned working on this project to start a Kickstarter for your very own fold-up dinosaur:

These mini dinos, called “KitRex”, are three feet long and will be available in a variety of colors, since Glover more than met her original money goal / pre-order requirements. She spent months prototyping and testing the kits with kids between the ages of 8 and 12. The result is a bristol board model that can be flat-packed for shipping. (Googly eyes not included.)

Essentially what the Kickstarter money is going towards is a custom-shaped steel die so she can mass produce them. So even if you don’t have the cash to back her project (which has since been funded) right now, there’s no reason to believe you can’t purchase one from her website soon. I’ve just added “one thousand vibrant stampeding paper raptors” to my “If I Win The Lottery” goals, for instance.

However, the original raptor (and inspiration for KitRex) was 15 feet long:

I was asked to research a manufacturing process and demonstrate it in a unique way. I decided to research Industrial Origami, and over the course of 50 hours I designed, cut, and built a wearable 15-ft long velociraptor out of cardboard.

…she completely took home first prize for her costume, by the way. According to her Reddit AMA, Glover will hopefully be making the fifteen foot wearable version available in the future. For now, you can download a free paper dinosaur pattern that will fit on a sheet of regular office paper. If you guys get in trouble at work for re-enacting Jurassic Park scenes in the company kitchen, you don’t know me.

Here Are Nine Adorable Super Mario Cats. Have A Good Friday.

YouTuber 9 Cats has made a cat video based on Super Mario Bros. Why? This person has nine cats. Of course they set up some Mario pipes and mystery blocks and put hats on cats. Of course. The pound gives you a box full of cat hats with every ninth cat you adopt, and I have the punch cards to prove it.

Check out the Super Mario cats below. (We know of a tenth cat who would be terrified of this video.) Much like the internet itself, these tubes are brimming with cats:

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Just Accidentally Leaked Its Turtles

UPDATE: Check Out The ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ In Leaked Photos

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, directed by Jonathan Liebesman and coming this summer, has been a surprisingly tight-lipped production. Very little has actually leaked, other than Vanilla Ice desperately wants to be in it, and the old script was unsurprisingly terrible. But nothing stays under wraps forever, and the design of the Turtles has just leaked, via a crappy Halloween costume.

First dug up by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fansite, here’s the full costume in all its, ah, glory:

tmnt-movie-costume-michel-530x1024

I’m still getting over Michelangelo beating up Kick-Ass and taking his pants. Joking aside, the design isn’t terrible or even actually that far from the original Turtles, really. Let’s face it, as long as they have the right weapons and the masks are either properly color-coded, most people will be happy.

Mostly it’s the sheer amount of crap on this costume that gives me pause. So, Michelangelo has sunglasses, a douchey surf-dude medallion and two leather straps across his chest, in addition to a loin cloth, board shorts, and what appear to be Chucks? Man, remember when the Turtles just had weapons and a leather belt?

True, we’d like to see, you know, a script, or a trailer, or any indication that this movie is actually coming out this year, since August is not actually that far away. But we’re sure that’ll turn up sooner rather than later.

South Korea’s High School Students Take The Best Yearbook Photos In The World

$

Show me a person who has ever been happy with his or her high school yearbook picture, and I’ll show you a person who, when not looking, would get devil horns and blacked out teeth drawn on that yearbook photo. We love terrible, awkward and messed up yearbook photos as much as we love cat GIFs and videos of puppies pushing soccer balls with their noses, because they make us forget about our mundane lives for a brief period of time, and they also remind us that our goofy-as-f*ck photos weren’t as terrible as we’ve always thought.

It looks like the students at Jeonju Haesung High School in South Korea actually have a pretty good idea for how we can keep all of the fun while doing away with awkward yearbook photos forever – by just acting like complete idiots in them on purpose. In these photos brought to us by the folks at Today Humor, the students are dressed up as everything from Iron Man to whatever that boy is doing above, and there’s absolutely no shame to their game.

Important News For ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans: Everybody’s Getting Replaced With Pugs

We’ve seen the same three pugs (Roxy, Blue, and Bono) dressed up as Game Of Thrones characters last Halloween, but now pet owners Sue and Phillip Lauer have teamed with Josh Hittleman and blinkbox to make a short film with the pugs to celebrate season four being available on blinkbox. So, yeah, it’s an advertisement, which the making of video makes even more clear. But it’s also pugs dressed as GoT characters. Damn you, advertisers; you’ve discovered my weaknesses. Pugs, Game Of Thrones, and bullets. In that order.

“The Pugs Of Westeros” stars Roxy, Blue, and Bono as several characters from the series, and we’ve included pictures of their many guises below.

Wheezing is coming.

Last year we celebrated Independence Day with Captain America GIFs and shared not one but two galleries of Captain America cosplay. Yesterday we kicked of the merrymaking with a gameplay video of Hitler getting shot in the nut (singular) and, of course, a classic picture of Captain America punching Hitler in his dumb Nazi face.

The patriotic festivities continue today with another gallery of Captain America cosplay. Continue on for 30 pictures of Captains America, American Dreams, USO girls, and more. There’s even some Nick Furies in there, not to be confused with “Nick Furries”, which we will never speak of again.

Comic-Con: Behold The Cape And Cowl Of Batfleck From ‘Batman V Superman’

$

Last night was preview night at San Diego Comic-Con, and, as a result, everybody who could get in immediately sprinted to see what they could of DC’s upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. OK, so it’s just a cowl and cape. But it’s still pretty neat.

First of all, it looks like Kevin Smith was completely full of s***, as the cowl appears to be your basic black and actually doesn’t resemble the outfit from The Dark Knight Returns all that much. If anything it looks like the 1989 Batcape, just with shorter ears. Superhero Hype photographed it from pretty much every possible angle, so you can check it out there.

Overall… it looks pretty good. Granted, they’re decidedly pretty conservative with this go-round. They’re clearly not trying to reinvent the wheel by giving him Kelley Jones-esque ears or anything. But at least we know Batman won’t be goofy in this one.

Shut It Down: This Is The Best ‘Pulp Fiction’ Cosplay Ever (Video And Pictures)

One of the biggest things on Reddit today is the picture above of two eerily familiar-looking guys dressed as Pulp Fiction‘s Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega at San Diego Comic-Con. So impressive was their work here that I had to track down their identities and find more pictures and video. Much like Marsellus Wallace, we found what we were seeking in six additional pictures and a video. (And we didn’t even end up in a basement after chasing this stuff down.)

Jules Winnfield is being cosplayed by Elliott Branch, AKA juleshollywood. Vincent Vega is being cosplayed by actor Dave Colbert. We’ve collected some more great pictures of these mushroom-cloud-layin’ motherf*ckers. Here’s Branch making some special friends at Comic-Con.

MARVIN!?

And this bad motherf*cker is nailing Samuel L. Jackson’s intense glower.

This briefcase had better light up when you open it.

Branch and Colbert even do the casual version of this cosplay.

Did we mention Branch also does an impersonation of Samuel L. Jackson? Here he is getting a touch-up from Edward Scissorhands.

This is righteous.

In lieu of a Cosplay Of The Week feature, we’re instead going to share our favorite costumes from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. We’re going to highlight even more cosplay pictures later today (UPDATE: here’s part two, and part three is here), because this is the time of year when thousands of cosplay pics come rolling in and daddy drinks to deal with the workload.

Check out the gallery below for our favorites from beloved franchises like X-Men, Game Of Thrones, Star Wars, and even Archer, because Sterling finally found his way to Whore Island. And yes, there will be multiple Rocket Raccoons, since several cosplayers were stoked about Guardians Of The Galaxy opening this Friday. There are only 69 days, or 99,991 minutes, left until Halloween…OH GOD, now there are only 99,990 mintutes, and I STILL don’t have a costume. What am I going to do? Can I use my Ikea Monkey get-up from last year? No, I need something topical, something that people are definitely still going to be talking about in late-October (also, I should take that monkey out of his shoebox). Let me check my favorite website, Brands on Sale (co-funded by Darren Rovell, presumably), for some ideas. Oh, here’s one:

Battle Armor Disney Princesses Don’t Wait For Heroes. They Are Heroes.

Battle Armor Disney Princesses photographed by Howie Muzika.

With all the various internet fan art collections answering the question “What if the Disney Princesses were [hipsters / meter maids / various types of squirrels]?”, did anybody think to ask, What if they were super badass?

No more waiting for their prince to come. These Battle Armor Disney Princesses are ready to fight the dragons themselves. Well, almost. Their battle armor may not have the greatest coverage in a dragon fight, but it was practical for the summer heat at the Anime Revolution convention in Vancouver last weekend.

We’ve collected a representative sample of these great cosplayers, with each character and cosplayer identified above the picture. Thanks to Howie Muzika and The Will Box for the photos, and to The Will Box for help in identifying the event and any cosplayers we didn’t recognize.

Today is National Ghostbusters Day, according to people who really want you to pay to see the movie again (remastered in 4K) in select theaters starting tomorrow. Since we’ve already ranked the ghosts in Ghostbusters, shared fascinating facts, read an infographic, checked out some cool swag, and watched the honest trailer, we had to find a different way to celebrate this totally-legit holiday.

We decided to bust out the fashion, collecting our favorite Ghostbusters cosplay (part two available here). What can I say? Bustin’ (out the fashion) makes me feel good.

Kiba The Cosplaying Corgi Had Us At ‘Cosplaying Corgi’

If this day is getting you down — and don’t look at a calender if it isn’t — have we got just the thing for you. Kiba The Cosplaying Corgi just cheered us up immensely.

When not dressing up as Mario, Raphael the Ninja Turtle, two versions of Link from Legend Of Zelda, Yoda, or Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, this adorable Corgi serves an even more valuable purpose. Kiba is also a therapy dog, and we can’t imagine a better canine to be a therapy dog than a Corgi wearing little outfits. How could anyone have anxiety or depression with this little cuddlemonster around?

Just look at that face!

Kiba, you’re famous!

When IKEA Holds A Costume Contest, We All Win.

When IKEA isn’t saving adoptable pets or serving as a monkey sanctuary, they’re sometimes running interesting promotions for their fans. IKEA’s Malaysian division announced a contest for their Facebook fans, asking them to dress up as any silly-named IKEA product and send in a side-by-side comparison. It’s a joke they probably learned from the Makeup Transformation meme that was trending last month.

The winning cosplay won a $250 Grand Prize, which we strongly advise against using to buy the meatballs or the cake. Continue reading to see the Grand Prize winner and our favorites among the 20 runners up, who also won a prize: an IKEA gift card worth RM200 (a little over $62). We’re a little surprised nobody dressed as the ubiquitous Allen wrench.

Even though some animals were pumped to hear about a new Jurassic Park movie, not every animal was enthusiastic about the news. Marv the dog just reluctantly celebrated his first birthday with an unwelcome Jurassic Park themed gift in a video uploaded by banditsVSbears, who says, “My pup Marv turned one today and was quite embarrassed about the gift I gave him. After watching the video, I couldn’t help but add some Jurassic Park audio.”

Everything in life could benefit from a well-timed melodica cover performed by Patrick T. Lo. Stuck in traffic? Melodica cover. Waitress carrying a tray of food that might be yours? Melodica cover. Somebody films something great as a f*cking vertical video? Sad trombone feat. melodica, with a guest verse by Pitbull to really drive home the tragedy.
